The 400-horsepower Verado 400 will butt heads in the offshore market with the 425-horsepower Yamaha XTO and the 350-horsepower Suzuki DF350A and represents a step up in top-end performance from the Mercury Verado 350 model. The lightest version of the 350 weighs 763 lb.

Just in case youre wondering how the motor with more displacement can possibly be lighter note that the Yamaha has managed to shave down weight quite a bit through the years with touches like sleeveless.
